# Which date format is supported?

If your data file contains a date column (this can be used to create the timeline chart) please ensure there is **only one date column** and the date format is supported.

Please make sure to use this format:

**d.M.yyyy** (e.g. 1.1.2021)  
**dd.MM.yy** (e.g. 01.01.21)  
**d.M.yy** (e.g. 1.1.21)  
**dd.MM.yyyy** (01.01.2021)

You also have the option to select if your data file contains a date column and furthermore specify the format of your date column in the project creation step:
